January is Walk Your Dog Month and what better way to kick start your New Years Resolutions by reading some great YA books that feature dogs? If you are like me, you love dogs and want to spend more time with them because they just get you. If you're a fan of books to movies, I highly recommend picking this one up! This book reads just like the movie. I loved this story. It had me crying, made me hopeful and had me wanting to do something more for these realistic characters I loved getting to know.
I was really surprised with this story. I wasn't excepting to be so emotionally connected to it or the characters. It definitely had me feeling all the book feels. The characters are incredibly believable, and so easy to be emotional connect to. I loved getting to know each of them, and what they each offered each other.
Most importantly, I really appreciated that this story opened my eyes to Cystic Fibrosis. What an incredibly brave battle those with CF have. I feel like this story does a beautiful, heartbreaking job at showing that and allowing readers to get a better understanding of what those who have CF deal with on a daily bases. This story made me want to learn more about it.
I highly recommend reading this book. Whether you do so before or after seeing the movie, it's worth reading. Judging from the book, the casting for this movie is spot on. I'm looking forward to seeing the movie.
