I'm thrilled to be teaming up with Entangled Teen to reveal the title + share an excerpt for the sequel to Sara Wolf's BRING ME THEIR HEARTS! The sequel, FIND ME THEIR BONES, will be out on June 4th, 2019! I'm loving this title. I'm looking forward to seeing the cover in the coming weeks. To celebrate today's title reveal, I have an exclusive author interview with Sara and an excerpt from Find Me Their Bones! Keep reading to get your sneak peak.

AUTHOR INTERVIEW

Which came first, the writing of the book or the title?

Definitely the title! I've had it stashed away on a post-it note for about two years now, so it felt super good to finally write it out on paper. Digital paper, but still! Writing the book is always a bit harder than coming up with cool titles - for me, my shower thoughts are ALL about cool titles. And maybe also romantic angst - guilty as charged!

What question have you been asked most frequently about what’s to come in this follow-up to Bring Me Their Hearts

People are HUGELY interested in how Lucien's going to react to Zera's betrayal, and I get it. He's kind of an aloof mystery, even though he's adorably straightforward sometimes. That's the paradox of Lucien, and I love him for it. And Zera does too! It's going to be tricky, but I think I've gotten him to a good place in his journey. He's learning and growing and making mistakes he was never really allowed to make inside the Vetrisian court.

What has been the hardest part of writing Find Me Their Bones

A lot of writing is hardest for me when things could go one way or another. It's kind of like standing at a crossroads, not entirely sure which way you should take. Both ways look good, with flowers and grass and a pleasant, even walk, but that's exactly why the choice is so hard. Both ways are valid and equally cool. So really, then, it boils down to; 'which way will be more satisfying for the reader'? And me, of course, but also the reader. Which way makes the story more satisfying is a great thing to keep in mind, for me.

Can you tell us if we’ll get some answers to that amazing cliff-hanger of an ending to Bring Me Their Hearts

Yes yes and more yes! I will flood everyone with answers. I will scatter answers like petals from a hot air balloon over everyone. I'll put so many answers in you'll taste them in your sleep! Alright, that last part didn't make sense, but you get it. A ton of stuff is going to be answered, and I'm super psyched to shower you all in that loveliness.

READ AN EXCERPT FROM FIND ME THEIR BONES

“I want you to tell me—do you want to live?”
I’m quiet.
Living would mean getting the chance to apologize to Lucien, to see Fione and Malachite again. To sing to Crav and Peligli once more, tuck them in at night. To tell Nightsinger I’m sorry for disappointing her. All painful things, hard things, things that will take time and effort and so much of myself. Things that I might make mistakes doing, piling new wounds on top of old.
I could die now, and do no more harm to anyone anymore. I could leave and worry no longer. I’d never have to fight or struggle with the world, with myself, ever again.
It would be so easy, the hunger whispers.
Love, hate, guilt. Heavy things. And they would all be gone. I would be light, in death.
Princess Varia takes my silence as an invitation. She seats herself in a wooden chair like it’s her father’s crystal throne and asks, “Did you tell my brother you were going to be shattered soon?”
“No,” I rasp. “I’ve involved him in my life enough. No need to get him involved with my death, too.”
“He’d want to know,” she says.
“That’s where you and I will have to disagree, Your Highness.”
She tosses her mane of dark hair over her shoulder and frowns. I look up at her through my blood-sticky bangs.
“I want to live.”

ABOUT THE BOOK #1

Zera is a Heartless – the immortal, unageing soldier of a witch. Bound to the witch Nightsinger ever since she saved her from the bandits who murdered her family, Zera longs for freedom from the woods they hide in. With her heart in a jar under Nightsinger’s control, she serves the witch unquestioningly.

Until Nightsinger asks Zera for a Prince’s heart in exchange for her own, with one addendum; if she’s discovered infiltrating the court, Nightsinger will destroy her heart rather than see her tortured by the witch-hating nobles.

Crown Prince Lucien d’Malvane hates the royal court as much as it loves him – every tutor too afraid to correct him and every girl jockeying for a place at his darkly handsome side. No one can challenge him – until the arrival of Lady Zera. She’s inelegant, smart-mouthed, carefree, and out for his blood. The Prince’s honor has him quickly aiming for her throat.

So begins a game of cat and mouse between a girl with nothing to lose and a boy who has it all.

Winner takes the loser’s heart.

Literally.
