My Thoughts:
First, this book captured my attention by reading a great review by Forever Lost in Literature
Second, lets talk about how beautiful the cover of this book is! It's pure eye candy! I LOVE It! I bought it on my Kindle but I'm almost tempted to pick a hard copy of it up at a book store, just to have it on my shelf.
Who doesn't love a new twist on an old fairy tale? I'm going to be completely honest when I say the story of Peter Pan has always creeped me out a little bit. The idea of a boy just showing up, climbing through windows and whisking children away to an island where they never grow up is weird...surely there's strings attached. AND this story reveals that there certainly are strings are attached. As I raced through the story the old saying of "If something sounds too good to be true than it probably is." kept echoing through my head.
I love that this story comes from a different point of view-an unexpected character in the famous story of Peter Pan---Captain Hook. This is the story of how Captain Hook becomes Peter Pan's greatest enemy. I don't want to reveal too much of the story because it's a fantastic adventure with a different perceptive that was eye opening. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy, I couldn't put it down. I know that Christina Henry has also written a novel based on the tale of Alice and Wonderland--I will definitely be picking it up. I want more!
