January is Walk Your Dog Month!

January is Walk Your Dog Month and what better way to kick start your New Years Resolutions by reading some great YA books that feature dogs?  If you are like me, you love dogs and want to spend more time with them because they just get you.  This awareness month is a great way to help dust off the January blues, read a few good books, maybe go out and adopt a new dog, or if you already have one start taking him/her out for more walks.  It's a fun way to get out of the house and your dog will love you for it! Here is a list of YA books that will have you begging for more! Last Chance by Norah McClintock In this charming YA novel by Norah McClintock, the main character Robyn is scared of dogs—like, really scared. But she agrees to spend her summer working at an animal shelter anyway. (It's a long story.) Robyn soon discovers that many juvenile offenders also volunteer at the shelter—including Nick D'Angelo, a boy from Robyn's past. A boy she hoped to never see again. Ni...

Review: One Love by Lili St. Germain

Title: One Love Author: Lili St. Germain Series: Gypsy Brothers #7 My Ratting: 2 Stars This is the final book in the series. This review is ALL SPOILERS! If you have not read the entire series do not read this review. Review: I loved this series so don't get me wrong cause of this rating. I just think that the villain in this story got what he deserved, I don't think it was enough. Dornan tortured Juliette so much and made her go through hell several times, so I don't understand how he got such an easy death. Yes she killed all of his sons that did her wrong but he should have suffered more. I was addicted to this series and I read it as each book was released and it's taken me this long to review it because I was so disappointed with the ending. I feel like in all the other books Dornan's sons died in creative ways and he didn't. I also think that all the other books were building up to Dornan's death it fell flat for me unfortunately.               ...

Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?  This has been a really bad day for me to do a readathon. I didn't have my books already picked out, I had to work this morning so I wasn't able to start until after noon, I didn't pick up snacks or caffiene(yikes) and I've been playing catch up. Not my best day of reading, unfortunately.   5. What surprises you most about the Readathon, so far?  I've enjoyed visiting other blogging sites, watching their progress and participating in the mini challenges.

Hello, fellow readers! Today is the day! It's Dewey's 24-hour readathon! The first mini-challenge is the opening survey. Here's a little about me. 1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? I’m reading from a small town in Idaho 2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? The Murders of Molly Southbourne by Tade Thompson 3) Which snack are you most looking forward to? Twizzlers and Coke 4) Tell us a little something about yourself! I haven’t been doing my reading blog for the last two years. I’m looking forward to blogging and reconnecting with the blog community. I’ve missed it. 5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today?  I haven’t done readathon in a few years-looking forward to participating. I plan to read as much as I can-I'm sticking to short books and novels, mostly because it looks impressive. LOL

It's 9:00am here in Idaho and I haven't set the bar too high being that I have to work half the day. So I'm starting with an audio of Final Girl's by Riley Sager so I can listen while I work and if it gets slow I'll be reading The Murders of Molly Southbourne by Tade Thompson. And my first hour begins now-

BOOK REVIEW-The Lying Game

THE LYING GAME By Ruth Ware 384 Pages Publisher: Scout Press Amazon Synopsis: On a cool June morning, a woman is walking her dog in the idyllic coastal village of Salten along a tidal estuary known as the Reach. Before she can stop him, the dog charges into the water to retrieve what first appears to be a wayward stick, but to her horror, turns out to be something much more sinister... The next morning, three women in and around London—Fatima, Thea, and Isabel—receive the text they had always hoped would NEVER come, from the fourth in their formerly inseparable clique, Kate, that says only, “I need you.” The four girls were best friends at Salten, a second rate boarding school set near the cliffs of the English Channel. Each different in their own way, the four became inseparable and were notorious for playing the Lying Game, telling lies at every turn to both fellow boarders and faculty, with varying states of serious and flippant nature that were disturbing enough to ensure that ever...

LOST BOY-BOOK REVIEW

LOST BOY  By Christina Henry Publisher: Berkley Books 292 Pages July 2017 Amazon Synopsis: There is one version of my story that everyone knows. And then there is the truth. This is how it happened. How I went from being Peter Pan’s first—and favorite—lost boy to his greatest enemy. Peter brought me to his island because there were no rules and no grownups to make us mind. He brought boys from the Other Place to join in the fun, but Peter's idea of fun is sharper than a pirate’s sword. Because it’s never been all fun and games on the island. Our neighbors are pirates and monsters. Our toys are knife and stick and rock—the kinds of playthings that bite. Peter promised we would all be young and happy forever. Peter lies. My Thoughts: First, this book captured my attention by reading a great review by Forever Lost in Literature Second, lets talk about how beautiful the cover of this book is! It's pure eye candy! I LOVE It! I bought it on my Kindle but I'm almost tempted to pic...
